You can always try downloading the fix guide on pirate bay for free then spending the $20 – $25 on the supplies to fix. This would probably be a permanant fix and would be the better route to go if you are not looking to buy a new unit. I just needed a quick fix until I got the new 250gb unit and the blanket trick worked for me. I did have to repeat the process every few days FYI.
