ILD Teleservices – Scam, Rip-Off – ildtelecom.com


Okay, so get this – I just got my most recent Verizon phone bill (I’m in California), and I had a new section of charges from ILD Teleservices. A company who I have never done business with nor do I recal ever agreeing to or signing up with them. My phone bills are typically in the $150 range for 2 voice lines and a DSL line. This month, thanks to this ILD Teleservice non-sense, my phone bill came in at a whopping $237!!!

This is absolutely ridiculous, has anybody ever heard of this company? Does anyone know where they’re from?

I’ll update this site with what happens, I’ve tried calling both Verizon and ILD Teleservices today with no luck (it’s past 5pm on Friday).

  1. Go to classaction.com where attorney Robert green is considering a class action and needs plaintiffs who have lost money in this scam. Look under consumer affairs.

  2. They are still getting away with it. They did this to one church I went to back in 2004, and now they did it to the new church I go to 2 months ago. I see a lot of complaints and reports on the Internet, but they are still in business! Why? If they’ve been doing this since 2001, looks like no amount of complaints will shut them down.

  3. I got the same charge on my business verizon bill today and I called they are blocking this company and cancelling it.

    I hope the class action suit happens. Let them pay to defend themselves

  4. It isn’t just Verizon, it happens to many people, like me. I have been the victim of someone’s sick sense of humor. Someone keeps signing me up for things like music downloads, and having them charged to my phone bill. My phone company says that there is nothing they can do about it. BS!

    I have voice mail on my phone, and I do not download music, so why in the Hell would I be signing up for these services? I am regularly charged $14.95/month for these things, and I had nothing to do with placing the order. I’ve told ILDS this and my phone company, but they refuse to do anything about it. I’ve been able to get the charges reversed; however, it is a hassle to have to call ILDS each month to get the charges refunded.

    We can block your telephone number in our system to ensure you no longer are billed by any service provider using ILD for payment services. You can also ask your local phone provider to place a 3rd party block on your telephone.

  6. I JUST READ MY PHONE BILL AND FOUND THE CHARGES OF AN EXTRA 14.99. AFTER CHECKING .OUT AND SEVERAL CALLES LATER ILD SAID THEY WILL REMOVE THE BILLING, CANCEL, CREDIT MY ACCOUNT AND GAVE ME A CONFIRMATION #, ALL WITHOUT ASKING ANY QUESTIONS.

    THEN I CALLED FRONTIER AND WAS TREATED WITH THE UTMOST RESPECT AND THE AGENT AGREED WITH ME THAT THEY ARE SLIME BALLS. THEY CANNOT PUT A 3RD PARTY BLOCK ON MY ACCOUNT UNTIL I AM CREDITED BY ILD, BUT THE AGENT GAVE ME HIS PERSONAL EXT TO CALL WHEN THAT CHARGE IS TAKEN OFF.

  7. I have just had verizon put block on my account so that no charges can be put on my bill unless they come from verizon. They also reversed the charges.

  8. wow…well here is my story to add to the many others about what crooks ILD are. We just got back from europe…we stayed 2 days at the marriott in London. Of course we took our calling card with us to use to call home. So while at the Marriott we followed step by step the directions provided to us by the Marriott about how to make a call using the calling card. It seemed to work fine, we got an outside line, used our calling card numbers and our call went through…not once did we talk to an operator.
    Low and behold we got our phone bill last week. On our phone bill is a whole section with ILD third party calls..WTF??? 50 minues of talk time and we are charged over $500.00!!!!Unacceptable!!!! Not once did we talk to an operator, we used our calling card…we punched our calling card numbers in the phone, why the hell is it showing up third party billing??? My husband called our telephone provider (bell) and they said they have nothing to do with it, we have to deal with IDL. So we called IDL, and they said we have to deal with our telephone company (bell) about this. SO NOT IMPRESSED! Shame on you IDL and shame on the Marriott for even being associated with a company like IDL who has obviously ripped off so many people!!!
    This has totally changed my opinion of the marriott, and I would never stay there again unless they do something to rectify this situation. I have yet to contact them about these outrageous charges…need to cool down a bit first I think. Its just totally unacceptable that IDL can rip innocent consumers off like they’re doing….so frustrated right now, and all this right before christmas shopping season. Just great :(

  9. Well, I am happy i found this site. My mother too is a victim of this ILD scam on her ATT phone bill. It is a shame that ATT would allow this to happen and not try to deal directly with them rather then make you call. When I called IDL after getting a bill for over $17 for a 3 min. call on my moms bill when she is contracted .15 cents a min with ATT, I was greeting by what initially seemed a friendly “Yolanda”. Once I started to question the charges she quickly went from friendly to down right belligerent! I was aghast at how my inquiries were met with comments a rudely stated “Let me finish” ;”you are not letting me finish” Then when I asked her name again she said well first of all you call me Ma’am. I said is this your name she said no, that is what you call me then my name is Yolanda. Oh, big mistake. I had had it. I cannot even spend the time writing all the rude comments. Suffice it to say I pulled this website up during my call and was able to tell her how I saw how many complaints their company had and with her rude tone now I understood why. She told me she would give me a 10% courtesy discount…..uh, I don’t think so, I said… that is not acceptable and she insisted I let her finish but I was done with listening to such crap. I was never rude until she made the ma’am comment. So Kayla from IDL who said earlier in these post this is what you offer rude people I beg to differ. It seems you make up you own mind there about what is rude and just asking questions is not rude…it is merely an info tool. So this company is full of it. Finally, after asking for a supervisor I was able to receive a credit. I think you ought to fire Ma’am Yolanda, IDL. She is a horrible customer service rep. I will wait to see if my credit ever comes. If not I have a few tricks up my sleeve thanks to this site.

  11. They are at it again I just got a charge on my Verizon bill for 13.73 from ILD for a monthly computer fix company. I have called the FCC and entered a complain on attorneygeneral.gov

  12. Wow! So I’m not the only one, huh? Here’s my story: Tried to make a collect call to my husband from an area code right next door to our own. He couldn’t hear me so he didn’t accept the call. At this point a voice came on and gave me instructions for entering my social security number and that I would be billed. I talked for two minutes. I was billed $17.95!!! I called the billing company (QTbill.com) which apparently handles IDL bills. I spoke with someone named Hector who seemed to agree with me that the bill could be disputed. He told me to fax him the bill and he would call me about it. He never called so I assumed all was o.k. Then I get a bill from a collection agency for $32.95. I went ahead and paid it because I want to keep my credit good. Who are the agencies that handle these problems for the public????

I had a charge of $13.68 on my at&t bill for ILD 101515800 they said it was used twice for information ? at $4.99 each and $3.69 in fees. why would anyone call this number when you can get free online 411 ,without entering any contract for 411 and why would I use a 101515800 when I could call 411 direct to at&t for less than that. and I haven’t used 411 since they started charging for it, I found you can call your local public library and ask for this info also for free. my wife and i never have used 101515800 and never would use such a thing. and at&t allowed this even though I already have a third party block. if this happens again I am switching to voip and a cable company for internet and screw at&t.

  14. We have Q West in University Place, WA. We got charged for a bogus information charge and long distance setup. We did not do either. We use our Verizon acct for any long distance and never call for information. They must have done a shadow scam on Orbit or one of the airline ticketing sites when I was searching for cheap tickets. We are deducting the charge from our phone bill, calling Q West, filing a complaint with the Washington State Public Utilities and Consumer Affairs Fraud Division. I am looking for a Federal site with which to file a complaint.

  15. These assholes have charged me $148.84 for 3-4 collect calls?? Are they crazy?? I’m on the phone now trying to get somebody to pick up and it keeps telling me to remain on hold, someone will be right with me. I already contacted my bank and the pending charges have to post before I can dispute it. This is crazy!! Who in the hell do they think can afford a $150 collect call??   17. I got scammed by ILD too on my Verizon bill. After several phone calls with ILD, I was given the name and information for the person who “authorized” the charges. Here’s the information that was not mine: name, email, date of birth, and maiden name. The only thing they had right was my home address. So anyone can flip through the white pages, pick an address, and tack these bogus charges onto anyone’s telephone bill. You don’t even need to bother with a correct name and the name doesn’t have to match the phone bill! ILD is a company set up to rob people and the phone companies are allowing it because they get a piece of it. And it’s sloppily done as well. But why should they care? It works. Disgusting.
