Okay, so get this – I just got my most recent Verizon phone bill (I’m in California), and I had a new section of charges from ILD Teleservices. A company who I have never done business with nor do I recal ever agreeing to or signing up with them. My phone bills are typically in the $150 range for 2 voice lines and a DSL line. This month, thanks to this ILD Teleservice non-sense, my phone bill came in at a whopping $237!!!
This is absolutely ridiculous, has anybody ever heard of this company? Does anyone know where they’re from?
I’ll update this site with what happens, I’ve tried calling both Verizon and ILD Teleservices today with no luck (it’s past 5pm on Friday).
Check out the updated ILD post here - contains updated information and links.

1Same thing happened to me. I would be interested in what website was visited where they did this. Suffice it to say that I will not be paying that portion of my bill. I called verizon and they said there was no way they could block this sort of thing from happening,( this is the third time), and no, it’s not me that is visiting these sights so I can truthfully say I didnot authorize the charges. So then I called ILD and after about 45 minutes and my phone almost going dead I got ahold of someone who said that they weren’t responsible that theyr’e just a billing service, so then she gave me 2 other phone #’s to call which made me very not happy after having spent 45 minutes on hold trying to get through to ILD. At that point I through the phone to someone else and they called those #’s and were able to get through and supposedly get the charges removed. I think ILD are just accomplices along with this “Nations Voice Plus Voicemail” and “My billingGuysVoiceMail” . Why does the phone company allow assholes like this to tag onto their phone bill? Why not make them do theyr’e own dirty work?

2I just had the same thing happen. I did talk to a rep who said I signed up through some kind of an airline ticket promotion on line but I know I never gave authorization to be billed. We should all write the California Public Utilites Commission @ http://www.cpuc.ca.gov or 1-800-649-7570 to complain. It is also wrong that Verizon allows these people to bill through them without any confirmation from the Verizon customer. TOGETHER WE CAN!!!!! Elyse

3It apparently seems that they can lock you into their long distance plan simply by getting you to agree to something else… something doesn’t seem right about that.
Very shady.

6These charges are 3rd party billing usually come from web sites like Group Lotto EZ Tracks etc the hook is offering free grocery coupons or something else , but what I found out 90% of the telephone numbers that have been billed are by people the line owner doesn’t even know I have seen accounts open under names at “Hans Solo” “Dork Boy” to name a few
I worked for one of these companies Voice mail service until I was fired because I was on ripoff.com and have my own blog about these issue for the company I worked for and she goes under about 8 to 10 differnet company names if it is a new service you will always have some kind of set up fee if not you have been paying for years.
I have been writing to get this taken care of too many people being ripped off so far those who have been slammed and or crammed are the ones who need to press charges
In fact the owner is suing me because she isn’t making as much money now and she feels it is my fault she has lost business not that the consumer has caught on to what is happening I have nothing except bills if she wants them she can have them she is even preventing my unemployment from going through and making it difficult for me to get new employment with a ethical law abiding company

8The best way is to go through the BBB as well as your local attorney general and the FCC etc the more companies like this are reported I’m hoping something will be done about it .
Have your local telephone company put a third party block on the line so no charges will be allowed that will help and sooner or later put these companies out of business as well if there isn’t a place to bill no money for them.
Those who work there for the most part do not agree with the methods used but when you live pay check to pay check there really isn’t anything you can do Now that I have been fired I’ll speak out

9I can’t believe so many people are having the same problem I am. I also called Verizon and they did remove the ILD charge 3 times now. What I find odd is when I call the number for ILD on my bill I get a People PC rep. They told me they have never heard of ILD and that ILD is not a clearinghouse agent for them. I am ready to cancel People PC because even though they know about this fraud charge they have not done anything to correct the problem yet. Hey who knows maybe they are in it together!
GOOD LUCK everyone.

10Wow… Verizon wouldn’t remove the charges from my bill – they said I had to go through ILD, which was a hassle. I ended up just tracking down ILD and canceling through them.
I’ll post the phone number on here if that would help anyone…

11Verizon just blocked and removed ILD from my billing…and I left this scam a piece of my mind and am more than willing to set my attorney on them for Fraud, attempted I.D. Theft and Interstate Racketeering. So don’t worry…they make their money by folks who just pay their bills and never look at them.

12Yeah Rev, you should shut those guys down. Luckily, Verizon let me add a block to my account once I canceled with ILD – that way no 3rd party can weasel their way in again.
Good luck to everyone else who is having problems with ILD on their phone bills!

13Same story. Four times in the last 12 months. Scams include collect calls where the ID of the caller matches someone who actually works for me. Three times in the last year the scam was bogus internet listings – that I never ordered or agreed to. To add insult to injury ATT has made me feel like the bad guy.

16Attorney general office is the way to go ILD has already been investigated by Florida attorney general along with another billing company Intergetel the infromation that i recieved they both had to pay millions back. Now they are looking into the smaller companies the Nationwide voice mail, residetial voice mails, telephone service inc that I worked for. Recently I had to send to them everything I had in order for them to start an investigation.
Anyone who had any fraudulent charges on bills from third party companies get intouch with your state attorney generals office send the copies of phone bills so they will know which companies besides ILD
More poeple need to write to the officials to get anything done. I’ve done my part but really the people who have been scammed need to write letters. In fact i am having trouble getting work over my whistle blowing on the company i worked for. but thats okay things will work out and i will get work again.

17Don’t know if you will receive this or not as I seldom no what I’m doing on the internet.
In any event, I’m an attorney in OKC and I just addressed this problem on my girlfriend’s behalf. She first noticed the charges from ILD on her February ATT&T bill. She only paid the AT&T portion and advised AT&T that she would not pay the “installation” fee charged by ILD Voice Messaging.
AT&T told her that the dereglution of the telephone industry by Congress allowed companies like ILD to charge for services “provided” by other companies as a third-party billing entity. This may in fact be true. She was told that she would have to contact ILD to discuss the charges. She attempted to do just that, but was never able to make it past the “please hold for a customer service rep” run around.
She has now received 2 additional AT&T bills with ILD charges for the initial setup fee as well as recurring monthly charges for which there is no explanation or reference number. I took charge today and called ILD on my way to work. I dialed the number with no intention of staying on hold for the duration of my commute. After holding for 10 minutes, I was surprised when a human “customer rep” took the call.
Having some experience in these matters I opted not to disclose my real identity. The rep and I then had the following exchange:
Rep: What is your name?
Me: Bill Z****er (A little white lie here . . . my girlfriend’s last name is Z****er, and I knew the rep would hang up if she smelled trouble)
Rep: Can you verify your #
Me: Yes, giving her the #. (never mind that I had already dialed it into their automated system 3 times before the human interaction)
Rep: Who is Raney A?
Me: My wife’s son from her first marriage.
Rep: how old is he?
Me: 11.
Rep: Well, the information we have is that he is at least 18 and he filled out a survey with a company to receive some type of downloads to his ipod. (Raney admitted that he did fill out a survey so he could receive “free” downloads) Hence you are being charged as a result of an agreement that he made with this mystery company.
Rep: Is his birthday 5/25/87?
Me: No.
Rep: What is his birthday?
Me: I am not sure of the exact date (5/25/95), but he is only 11.
Rep: are you sure?
Me: YES!!
At that point she explained that since he was only 11, she would remove the original charge and the 2 that followed, but my girlfriend/wife would still be receiving monthly charges on her AT&T statement until July. The rep may actually do this since there are federal laws regulating internet advertising that targets minors.
When I asked her to explain this she became quite vague and inquired if I was ready to take a confirmation number. I told her that I was driving and could not write down the number, but trusted that the probvlem would be solved. She then told me that I would need to call back and secure the confirmation number. End of conversation.
By this time, the attorney in me was on full alert! I confirmed that Raney had filled out a survey on the internet in order to receive free downloads. I then conducted a Google search and was hit with the full brunt of this clever fraud. (I found your blog in the process)
I am outraged on several different levels. First, I am sure that Raney is telling the truth. Second, he is not old enough to enter into a legally binding contract. Third, he hasn’t received any downloads, free otherwise.
More importantly, I am angry b/c this is not the first time that I have encounterd this pernicious practice. I was shocked to learn that ILD is operating nationwide under 11 different corporate identities. They have been sued by the AG’s of several states, only to be slapped with inconsequential fines and penalties and “do better” speeches. I suspect that thousands have been unwittengly duped by these white collar bandits.
I was tempted to contact the OK AG’s Consumer Protection Division, until I remembered that they have a poor track record in these matters and will do nothing to actually stop this activity.
Among other things, I am an experienced class action attorney. That said, I am on the brink of filing a suit on behalf of my girlfriend and all others similarly situated. If you or anyone else is interested in this process, feel free to share my message and address.
Thanks for letting me rant,

18please write to the attorney general office I worked for one of those unethical companies and was fired because I havebeenon the internet explaining how these companies work I have been fighting for my unemployment as well with no luck so far.
I am hoping more people will get intouch with the attonery general office so far they have only sued the billing companies but the smaller comapnies that put the charges through ILD also needs to be sued.
I have sent all the info I had from when I was working to the criminal divison of Attoreny General in florida where this company operates under 11 different names that scam people on the internet.
The owner is very sly and very much a liar denies she owns any voice mail companies claims only to own the telephone servcie that does customer service for the Nationwide voic emails united voice mail residential etc etc.
They train the employees to liar to the consumer I was never good at it I gave all monies back neveer retained anything for her
I hope as you are an attonery you will be able to get something done there are to many of these crooked companies around I would speak to people that were charged from 4 to 5 of these voice mail companies.
Its a shame because it all comes down to when deregulation came about in 1996 all these crooks came out of the woodwork ripping people off I beleive congress needs to regulate this again to protect us the citizens from fraud
i am still fighting this company and will not stop until it makes the news
thanks for letting me go on and i do still have memos and phone number to customers I spoke with who were ripped off that i passed on to proper authority
Oh one very important thing do not let phone company block by doing 3rd party block until you have received all of your refunds on the statement for some reason if the block goes on before refunds are issued it stops the refunds.

19As it turns out, Raney’s father actually used his credit card to pay for the download. Remember, ILD Rep sated that Raney had completed a survey which triggered the billing on my girlfriend’s AT&T account.
Also, my girlfriend received yet another bill today that had additional charges from ILD. I can’t believe these jackasses are allowed to do business in any state
I’m past considering class action litigation. It is time to file suit.

20How in the world can our government allow this crap?!!
The same thin happened to me with Embarq. There is was, on my phone bill – a small amount – $2.30 – but I din’t authorize anybody to charge me for it! There should be something we can do through the state legislature, although they may be lining their pockets with some of this fraudulent money.

21I was steered to this site by a local newspaper article. A person in my town was just scammed by ILD. His suggestion was to call your local phone service and request a BLOCK FOR THIRD PARTY BILLING. In this case it is Verizon. I did just that. The best part is that it’s free!

22Just rec’d our Verizon’s (we’re in CA) July bill & found fraudulent mo. charge from ildtelecom. This is the 2nd time ildetelecom has billed my Verizon home phone bill for “Contact Message System Vmail Mth Fee” and am pretty upset. Last time this happened (w/in one year) found out someone had signed up online for an 800# voicemailbox and was able to charge our home # for the service – even though they had used a name & address that in no way was similar to ours. I expressed my outrage at Verizon at that time that they would allow the charge using only our phone #; they didn’t bother to tell me we could block 3rd party charges. Thanks for the info, would DEFINITELY be interested in shutting down this company & getting Verizon to change their ways as well – dealing with this again is a complete waste of time & energy!

24I can’t believe this garbage is happening. First the credit card companies say you signed up for this service or that—
Then we get a phone bill with ILC charges. We hav e to wait until tomorrow call Verizon. I expect a run around . This is bogus we don’t have e-voice or whatever they are claiming.
We are from PA. I guess the best ave. is the Attorney General’s office.

Both of my parents are retired and they are on a fixed income, how dare ILD charge my parents for something they dont even use. I called the PUC and they are going to take care of this for me. Let’s hope this gets removed ASAP. Please email me if you guys know more about thi, becuase I sure dont and I know that they are scamming people.

27I recently received a phone bill with charges on it from a company called ILD Technology Services, Inc. The charges were for voice mail set up and monthly service charges, totaling $27.90. I had never heard of this company so did an online search to see if they were somehow connected with Verizon. The only thing I could find on this company was at this webiste http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/0/267/RipOff0267950.htm and also this site http://i.nconspicuo.us/2007/02/09/ild-teleservices-scam-rip-off-ildtelecomcom/. Knowing ahead of time that this was a common scam by this company, I called the 800# on the bill and spoke with someone who told me thatthese were not ILD charges. When I told him that the bill said the charges were from ILD and I wanted them removed from my bill or I would press charges, he told me they could remove the set-up fee but I would have to call another number to have the monthly service disconnected and the charges removed from my Verizon bill. He did provide me with that number. He also told me it would be two-four months before the charges would be removed from my bill and I would receive a credit. He told me to call Verizon and let them know I would not be paying these charges. I then called the second number and was asked if I knew a Stephen and if he had authority to change my phone service. I told them yes, but neither Stephen nor I had authorized this service and I would go to the Attorney General and press charges if the service wasn’t disconnected and credit applied to my bill. She told me the same thing the first person told me, it woudl take 2-4 months to come off my bill and call Verizon and let them know I would not be paying the charges.
Please be sure to review your telephone bill carefully every month and make sure all charges are legitimate. I went back to last months bill and found a monthly charge from ILD on that bill, but because of the information (or lack of) on the bill, Steve and I both connected those charges with long distance calls we had made. Review your bill with a fine tooth comb.make sure every charge is legitimate.
The rub? We didn’t even have voice mail at the time, not even through Verizon and we never got any instructions or information about this “new service” we had supposedly enrolled in.

28I just found one of these charges on my bill. Unfortunately it is not “business hours” right now or I would be on the phone screaming. I have no idea what this about and I did not sign up for anything. On the day that I am being charged for voice mail setup…. I was flat on my back, under anesthesia, cut open, in a hospital, 2 hours from here! I am certain I was not authorizing anything!

30Yes, Please list the phone# used to remove these charges. Just noticed ILD charges on my Verizon bill. Of course, not within business hours of these companies.. so will need to get busy on this in the morning. I, too, do not see how this is legal!!! Plus IT SHOULD BE UP TO VERIZON to remove the charges!!! They are the ones allowing the 3rd billing charges w/out any verbal verification from us, the subscribers!
Thanks for all the helpful info on this blog…

31I’m located in Illinois and I just found the same type of charges on my latest Verizon bill. Luckily, my is only $30 but I won’t be paying any amount. That is for sure. I tried calling the number on my bill and got a recording telling me to call back during regular business hours. Hmmm, it was during regular business hours – I guess they left a little early today.
I will contact Verizon tomorrow and sse what they have to say AND check into the 3rd Party Billing block… thanks for that tip!

33Just looked at my phone bill & had the same charge – came on the internet to find out what it was & found this site – I just called the number & got them to agree to cancel the service & credit the charge on my phone bill. But the lady I talked to tried to sign me up for a free grocery shopping spree! !! What nerve! I told her I didn’t want anything from the company. Then she tried to tell me about the voicemail service. I told her that if I WANTED voicemail service, I’d use my regular phone company. We’ll see if the charge actually gets removed. (I guess it pays to call on Christmas Eve – I only had to wait about 30 seconds to talk to someone!)

38I have received my third charge from these people. I called my local AT&T office who cannot do anything about it until I contact ILD. Since I called ILD the last time they attached a charge on my telephone bill I told them if they ever tried to b ill me for something I know nothing about I would call the California Public Utilities Commision and make a Fraud report. I am in the process of doing this. I cannot answer for the other telephone carriers, but AT&T says they must by Federal Law charge me for any third party billing. This seems ludicrous and I don’t have an answer but I don’t think we shouod be screwed by a company for unknow type charges and not be able to put a block on our phone. I have tried and was told since it is Federal Law these companies can charge us for something we have no knowledge of and then we have to go to the trouble of getting rid of the charges. By the way, when you call ILD you may be lucky and get some action the first time around but for the most part you are pressing buttons, waiting for a Customer Service Rep and listen to music for 30 minutes or more. There must be something we can do besides Consumer Affairs, PUC, and Better Business Bureau. This is ridiculous and I’m pissed.

46I got fraudulent charges on my bill for “Meteline Voicemail Mthly Service Fee” for $13.96 each month for two months in a row, and they were going to bill me next month, too. The Verizon rep I spoke to was really mad that ILD Teleservices has been ripping off his customers, but he can’t fix it. He connected me with them and helped insure that the charges would be reversed, but there is apparently no way to stop them from being able to bill Verizon’s customers other than blocking all third party charges. Despite Verizon knowing that the company’s charges are a scam, they can’t block just the fraudulent company. I think we should try contacting news organizations so that, if nothing else, more people check their bills and stop lining these slammers pockets.

49I just saw my online Qwest bill for March, in which there appears a $15.74 charge for ILD “voice mail” services. I never heard of the company before this date, and I’ve never requested or used the described services. I immediately wrote the FCC, AG, and utility commission in my state. First thing in the morning, I will be contacted Qwest and informing them I will not pay this charge, and seeing what they can do to remove it.
Years ago, another company (or perhaps another dba for the same company) appeared on my fiancee’s telephone bills for about six months before she noticed them. After first telling me there was nothing they could do about it, a Verizon supervisor agreed to issue a credit for all six month’s billing, which they are required to do in cases of “slamming”, “cramming”, etc. I’m hoping Qwest will be as co-operative, but anticipating that they won’t.
I think ILD Teleservices should be liable for all the time, telephone, and postage costs incurred in removing their fraudulent billings.
I obtained the following from another website, so I don’t know how accurate it is.

50I was lost and trying to pick up my husband from a coworkers house on March 13, 2008 when I discovered I did not have my cell phone and found a pay phone. The pay phone would not accept my change despite several attempts. I was desperate so I used the service listed on the pay phone for credit cards. My debit card showed $5 charged on Monday. When I cheked today (Thursday) it’s showing the charge as $28.31. I was surfing the net trying to find a number to contact them and found all this. I was on the pohne less than 2 minutes just like the other person said. They do need to be exposed.

51SOLUTION: I was finally able to get the charge of $19.99 + tax removed from my phone bill – it required a lot of effort, phone calls and time spent on hold, but it was removed.
I called my phone company (Verizon) first, which directed me to ILDs customer service line. ILD then tried to explain to me what it was that i agreed to purchase and said they would put a block on my number so it could not happen again, but would not refund my money. I begged and tried to negotiate something but they would not budge. They said they had a copy of “the form” i filled out online and said they would email it to me, but the email never came. I called back 1 hour later and asked them to send it again. Once again it never arrived. After attempting this serveral times and never receiving the email, i called my phone company trying to hold them accountable for allowing such a ridiculous charge from a unreputable 3rd party business on my phone bill. So they agreed to “remove the charge and send the bill back to ILD”. This means that i could no longer be charged from Verizon, but ILD could send me a seperate bill. I then went to follow up one last time with ILDs custome service line (probably my 5th time calling them that day) – i asked one last time for the order email and they said they didnt know why it wasnt coming through and then, finally, agreed to drop the charge and said “be very careful what you click on online”. Finally!!
So, long story short solution – 1 of 2 possibilities why this happened:
1. Verizon sent the bill back to ILD and ILD doesnt want to charge this scam any other way than through your phone bill.
2. It takes 5 or six different complaint phone calls for them to just give up.
Try them both and i hope it works for you like it did me.
Good Luck!!!!

52I just noticed an ~$18 charge for a 1 min. call I made from ORD to my wife’s voicemail, because my mobile phone battery was dead. Holy cow! There was no up-front disclaimer that indicated such outrageous rates. You can bet I’ll never use that service again, and I’ll be watching my statement like a hawk for additional charges. Way to gouge the public, you vultures at ILD Teleservices.

54I just got screwed by these bastards yesterday at Disneyland. Forgot my cell phone and used my credit card to mane a less than 1 minute call from a payphone by the Main Street Bank. A recording came on and said that I would be charged a $1.99 service fee for the call. Ok, big deal, move on and place the call. So today I see a $5 and a $14.06 charge on my bill. I called Disney to complain about their tie in with whatever service they are using. She said she had heard of this before! Well, maybe then Disney should do something………duh! I got the number to IDL and spoke to a person. She said the $5 would come off as its a holding fee but that the $14.06 was how much it cost for 1 minute. I told her that I agreed to the $1.99 but no where was it posted that there would be $14 a minute. Her reply was that I could have asked the fees. Ask who I said? She said I could have pressed 00 and asked an operator. Screw that! I already called my bank and as soon as the charges actually clear my account I am disputing them. The a$$hole who runs this company should be shot. Karma will bite him in the a$$. He should be looking over his shoulder.

55Similar to the way Visa® and MasterCard® process credit card payments on behalf of merchant customers, ILD is a billing clearinghouse that processes phone billed transactions on behalf of merchant customers.
The reason you see a bill from ILD Teleservices is because you or someone in your household may have signed up for services through one of our merchant-customers. If for any reason you disagree with the charges or have not been able to resolve questions to your complete satisfaction, we at ILD want to know. 58OK, we just found out that this “Nations Voice Plus” is charging our Verizon phone bill sense June of 2007 for a service we NEVER signed up for. It’s the 3rd party billing bull, where we not aware of Thur something on the Internet (of course). Some one has to put a stop to this!!! And dealing with the phone company who takes no responsibility for anything but taking our money and ILD who says they just “DO IT” for this OTHER company, no one is held accountable. Now what are you left to do? Is there anyway of getting our money back and stopping this
from happening in the future? I put the third party billing block on our phone, BUT WHATS NEXT??? If anyone has any information on how to cut through this red tape game please post a note or let me know.

To block any further third party billing, you must contact your local exchange carrier and they will place a bill block on your telephone number. If you have been billed by ILD, we can also place a block in our systems.
ILD would like to know more about your experience with Nations Voice Plus. Please contact us at http://www.ildteleservices.com or call 1-800-637-4009. 63ILD bills on behalf of many companies, from Fortune 500 to smaller service providers. We investigate each and every instance in which a consumer believes they were incorrectly billed. Many times, we find that a relative or friend authorized the transaction without telling the telephone account holder, or the account holder authorized the charge, but forgot about it when the bill came. With a phone number, we are able to trace charges and help the account holder understand how the authorization was given.

ILD's a scam and Verizon is in on it
May 7th, 2008 at 9:51 am
64This has happened to me for the second time. After the first time I fixed it I had a third party Block and two years was charged a second time. I just got off the phone with Verizon and the CSA told me to do the “Jumping through hoops” routine of calling ILD etc. I informed her that I had a block and she told me “Third party block, what’s that?” I angrily related my story a second time at which point she said “I need to talk to someone about this.” Five minutes later she said “Everything has been taken care of, the charge has been bounced back to ILD and the block is back up” So now I am mad. What happened to the block in the first place? Why does she now “magically” accept the third party block? At first she said she knew nothing about ILD but now she says that they have had problems in the past with them.
I’LL TELL YOU WHY… Because Verizon is in on it. Here is your proof. They are able to do this because of Telephone deregulation of long distance providers. Before you were locked into the same company for Long distance (LD) as your Local service provider (LSP). But because of deregulation they now need a way for third party LD to be able to charge you.
Do yourself a favor and Block all 900/866/other pay #’s and place a third party block (A must if you use Verizon) and probably others as well.
Good luck to all and don’t believe ILD Teleservices… Trust No.1

I called the number on the bill 1-800-433-4518 for ILD Teleservices and they said that someone in my house had to have signed up for this service over the internet. That never happened. ILD gave me a number for Meteline Tech 1-866-527-4984 and said I would have to contact them to get the charges taken off my bill. I hate to tell them I am not paying for any service that I did not authorize I will continue to deduct ILD charges from my phone bill each month they put them on it. I will also continue to call AT&T, ILD, and Meteline Tech letting them know I am refusing to pay for this service.

68I can not belive that ILD keeps collecting the moneys for this 3rd party
but then says you have to go through Nations Voice Plus to do anything
about getting your money back. ILD has sent me emails saying their
service staff will help you with the problem, but when you call them, all
they can say is to call Nations Voice Plus and give the same bogus phone
number. If anyone has the time and way to put together a list of all of us
who has been ripped off by this phone 3rd party scam can start it , maybe if we are all on the same paper work and send all of this to the
attorney generals office, each of us should get ahold of our local t.v. news stations and we might get somewhere. Alot of people are unaware
that this billing is even on their phones bills (sense they put it on the back last page, and we USE to trust our phone companys that we were
just paying a phone bill. Please send me a email, Im willing to do my part in bringing this bull shit to an end. There is more proff in the numbers, Im glad I get everyones comments about this. Lets work together to put an end to it and get our money back! And ILD stop with your phony emails to me, you dont plan to retrive my money and send it back, you just plan to keep stealing it from me and all these other people. 71Go to my website http://www.DJJeff.com – Near the bottom of the home page it tells my whole story on how you how to handle these idiots. Folks it’s a scam where the phone companies earn a small percentage to bill you. And, they will pull the wool over your eyes if you let them. Don’t take no for an answer.
ILD Teleservices has “CRAMMED” you. Cramming is “ILLEGAL”. And, all phone companies make money on billing you with an “illegal contract”. Basically – Your phone company is allowing an illegal transaction to make money off of you.
Pac Bell put a stop to it after they learned I had filed a small claims suit & asked for damages.
This stopped them for several years. Then it started again when AT&T took over. And, AT&T was eager to take it off my phone bill instead of facing me in small claims court.
Don’t take no for an answer. Sue your phone company & watch them change their tune.
Demand a stop to “CRAMMING” & sue them if they persist. I’ll bet they put their tail between their legs just like Pac Bell + AT&T did with me in the past.
ILD Teleservices actually called me with threats to sue me. I told them to “bring it on”. I have a copy of over 100 lawsuits where they lost because of cramming. I can prove what I say and it has happened to many thousands of others.
ILD Teleservices has also been labeled as a “Crammer” by:
The Public Utilities Commission
+ The Federal Trade commission
+ Consumer Affairs
+ PCC
YET — no government, state or consumer authority has shut them down. There are fines. But, no jail time. It’s been at least 10 years and ILD Teleservices is still allowed to defraud 1,000’s of unsuspecting victims.
This scam is just as bad if not worse than Gasoline Prices.
Our government is allowing us to be screwed. Proof? Go to YouTube.com and search for Lindsey Williams. And, see if you don’t have tears in your eyes before you watch both of his videos. “The Non-Energy Crisis” & “Syndrome of Control”.

72Another dissatisfied ILD “customer” here…I used a payphone to make 4 debit card calls this past weekend, since I was at a State Park campsite here in California where there was no cell service. AT NO TIME was I informed of the charges. I went to withdraw money from my account today, and whaddya know?…I’m $90 in the hole, because of EIGHT BULLSHIT CHARGES on my bank statement for $165 from ILD Teleservices! I only made 4 calls; 3 of which were well under a minute (because i was just leaving voicemail messages), the other was well under 10 minutes. 4 of the charges are still pending, so I can’t formally dispute them yet. I’m supposed to be going on a week long trip beginning this weekend, but now I won’t even have a bank card because I cancelled mine to make sure no more charges show up on it…oh yeah, and $165 would probably come in handy on a week long trip too, wouldn’t you think? I called them late this afternoon Pacific Time, but the message said to call back during business hours. Don’t worry, ILD…I will. Many times.

73I was quite pleased to find this site and see that we are not the only people being scammed by ILD! I’m sorry to see so many on this site. We’ve dealt with ILD, OAN, ESBI vm, ESBI Orbit and its a pain getting anywhere with their bogus phone numbers! Once again I’ve had to sit down with two years of phone bills to scan whats what and make sense of the late charges we’ve been billed on because we haven’t been paying the slam charges. Verizon told me to get the $5 a month late charge back from ILD, since its their charges that are causing the late fee! What a bunch of shit! I’m sending out my letter with copies of charges today to see if we get a response. Maybe I need to cc it to our attorney at the same time!

75I have been charged bogus ILD charges for the past three months and was able to trace it to someone in the neighborhood. But the fact that this is allowed to happen is what is absolutely abhorent. Wouldn’t this constitute the basis for a class-action suit against ILD? Don’t we have a good number of plaintiffs on this site? Any feedback is welcome….

76I too had bogus ILD charges on my last AT & T statement. I had no idea that I signed on to a voice mail service. Why do I need a voice mail service when I have an answering machine? I too would like to become part of a class action law suit. But so many hands are in our wallets: ILD, the agency that ILD represents, AT & T, and the government. Yes, the government. The government profits from these bogus charges through taxes. All the above have a vested interest in keeping the status quo. I will say that ILD stated that they would credit my unauthorized charge, but I really think that they need to exercise tighter control on these merchants they represent. I supposedly signed on to this voice mail service via the Internet, but I never received an email confirmation, logon or password.

78I just found an unauthorized charge on my bill from ILD, so I contacted Verizon and explained the situation. The rep said that they’d block the charge and put in a dispute, and that I should just pay what I normally would, then suggested that I call ILD, which I did.
I talked with an ILD rep and found out that I’d been signed up for a voice mail service through Phoneright. There was just one problem. The person who signed up for this is a member of a family that had my number before I did, and I’ve been getting calls for them almost ever since I’ve had it. Why they’d try to use a number that’s no longer theirs, I have no clue. I explained the issue to the ILD rep, who was very apologetic, and gave me the customer service number to Phoneright (1-888-568-6368).
I called Phoneright and explained to their rep the same thing that I’d explained to the ILD rep. While not apologetic, they nonetheless dropped the charge and the service from my number, and assured me that I would not be charged further. We’ll see when my next bill comes.

81My AT&T bills are automatically paid online, so I didn’t notice until yesterday that I’ve had ILD Teleservices charges on them $26.15 a month for some kind of fax service from RSN Enterprises. I called AT&T to get these charges stopped, but they told me I had to call the third party directly, which I did. I talked, (actually screamed) at two people there, one was supposedly a manager, and when I told him they were scamming me and to take the charges off, they said they couldn’t because I ordered this service, whatever the heck it is…. I called AT&T back, they returned all the charges I had on my bills back to ILD, issued me a credit and I was then forced to change my phone # because AT&T felt that ILD would continue to bill me…. You can reach Fred directly at 904 273-2440 and type extension 55693 when prompted. I’m sure he would love to hear your comments on how you love his services. Tell your friends about what a great job Fred does and maybe they will want to call him also to congratulate him.

87On 07-04-08 I placed a collect call from a pay phone in North Carolina to Tennessee. The call lasted approximately four minutes. On 07-07-08 two charges, one for $5.00 and one for $42.00 appeared on my bank statement because my wife was asked for a credit card number to accept the call.
I placed a call to the 800 number and it says they are closed. I left an email also, but after seeing they have been sued already and have hundreds of complaints, I would like to know why the American government does not shut them down.
What they do not realize is that I will spend more money than they ripped me off for to beat them. I am going to write Congressmen and Senators and find out why they are still operating also. It is an election year and the way I see it politicians need all of the votes they can get.

I talked to someone at ILD and they said someone with a different last name from mine signed up for a voicemail service and a credit repair service and put my phone # on it, and ILD said they could not refund my money. That I had ordered these services with my phone # so it had to be me. DuHHHHHHHH, hello, I could do this to someone I didn’t even know by just flipping open the phone book. I just tried to call the stupid ILD, but of course, I was on hold for a long time with no one picking up. Everyone needs to contact their state’s PUC and make a complaint. Maybe if enough people bombard the state agencies, we can put this idiots out of business!

92To ILD Teleservices -
There is absolutely no point to your service!!! I didn’t have any added services on my Verizon telephone account when ILD decided to “leach” or “piggyback” onto it. You simply bill users while not providing a service.
Not a bad business plan if you don’t have a conscious and don’t mind being completely unethical.
Thanks for stealing our money.

95I just found charges on my Verizon bill from ILD for some credit repair company I never signed up for. So, I called Verizon who put me right through to ILD to handle this situation. After a very short wait a guy answered, and I told him what was going on. He explained what his info showed and who the company was that was charging me this new monthly fee. He even told me my son’s name and that he was who had signed up for something via an online popup for the credit repair company and because he used OUR phone number, the charges are being put on that. I told him my son doesn’t even live here and must have done it when he was here one day. The guy said it was no problem and that he would credit the charges back to my phone company and he even informed me of this months charge which would be showing up on my next bill-that I didn’t even know about yet! He said he was crediting that back too and cancelling whatever it was that was signed up for. with the credit repair company as well as putting a block on for me so they can’t charge me any more.
So, its actually NOT ILD making these charges, people…but 3′rd party companies who use ILD for payment services-authorized or not! ILD has no idea which ones are trying to scam people or if its something they signed up for, perhaps unknowingly-even in my case, where it was someone else in my family that did so, not realizing this. If you are to complain to anyone, complain to the company that PUT the charges there in the first place, VIA ILD!!
After reading stuff here before I called Verizon, I was figuring I’d get nowhere-but it took all of 5 minutes for this matter to be totally cleared up by ILD, who not only removed the charges, but blocked that credit repair company from doing it to me again. The guy from ILD was very helpful and took care of this for me with not one single problem or delay! Call your phone company and have them connect you to ILD. They were very helpful and professional!

96Same here with the new charge appearing on my verizon bill. Verizon politely offered to call the company “with” me, but I called them myself. The CSR told me a service had been added to my account by a name I did not know, then removed the charge & credited my verizon account. The whole event took the same 5 mins Cathy experienced. Still a scam …

97You girls must be the lucky ones. I’ve had yet another illegal charge on my new phone #. AT&T offered to call ILD with me on a conference call, that got us nowhere. ILD still cannot help anyone, they just charge your account and steal your money. I actually called ILD again on my own to try to get them to stop charging me, they refused. I call Lunic Voice who the charge was from, (I could only get their phone # from their website) and they told me they would cancel my account. How many people would like to bet that those charges will still show up on my next bill? This is a very long ongoing nightmare with no end in sight.

We sincerely apologize to you and others who have voiced concerns in this forum and who have experienced inadequate support from our merchant-customers. ILD transmits billing records from its merchant-customer, collects payments from the respective Local Exchange Carriers and settles with its merchant customers.
ILD’s merchant customers are the service providers, and include Fortune 500 companies to smaller enterprises. We want to resolve these questions to your complete satisfaction, and investigate your specific concern with our merchant customer. Again, please contact us and we will help you find resolution.

99I really can’t believe that someone from ILD still continues to post here trying to explain what they do.
ILD takes money from unsuspecting telephone customers by leeching onto their accounts.
Such a corrupt company and business plan. They probably make millions though.

100HA!!!! Are they completely stupid? I’ve called there many times! No one can help that answers the phones (after you’ve wasted 15 or more minutes on hold). I wish I would have gotten the man’s name I talked to last night. He was an idiot who just repeated everything I said. I asked to talk to a manager, (have done this time and time again), but he wouldn’t put me through. ILD are criminals without conscience and will do anything to make a buck on some poor unsuspecting people who can already barely afford their phone bills. They should be ashamed!!! Lousy scammers and low-lifes!!!!

102ILD Teleservices. You will not fool the attorney General, BBB, the judge that will hand down hefty fines against ILD. I hope putting you out of business, broken and on the street . My wish is that you and your minions will be broke, begging to wash my windshield. The work is too good for your kind. There is a special place in hell for the likes of you. If I get there before you do, I will be waiting at the gates of hell with a bucket of redhot coals with to pour on you.
Just because you are posting here every day will not fix the hole in the dam. Your daily bullshit post are nothing but a half ass try to cover your asses in hopes posting will make ILD look good in the eyes of justice.
Running scared?
Do you not think the courts are too inept to see the truth? I hope the judge presiding over what will be,God willing,a forthcoming class action suit against ILD. What a hoot it would be if the judge has been a victim of your third party billing scam.

103I was on my way home from Afghanistan on emergency Leave when I opted to pay $5 to send my wife a text message from the airplane to let her know I was on my way. She responded, and I agreed to pay another $5 to view the response. Worth $10? Definitely!
Then, I check my bank account online when I get home, and imagine my surprise when I found that (in addition to the ARINC INFLIGHT SERVICE fee of $10), ILD has charged me on 4 separate occasions, $5 twice on the 24th, and $12.39 and $24.24 on the 25th of July. I haven’t used my credit card for any other purchases on either of those days, although the text messages took place on the 24th – thus my inclination to associate ILD with the ARINC charges.
At this rate, should I expect charges for $36 and $48 later today? Even $20 seems adequate to give my wife piece of mind, but when do the charges stop? And why wasn’t the possibility of additional charges disclosed at the time of transaction?
I’ll call ILD for resolution in a few hours (when they’re open), but I’m still shocked that this was allowed to happen in the first place.

104We just got billed for $13.95 from these crooks “ILD Teleservices”. They say we were charged for Internet back up service. What a pile of crap! These guys are fraudulent, and after seeing how many people get scammed, I cant understand why they are still in business. I filed a complaint with the FTC, and will contact our state consumer protection agency to file a complaint as well.

105I just recv’d phone bill for ILD services for $39.89. I called ILD and the charge is for 2 companies, Phoneright and US Credit Find. They issued a credit for US Credit find but not for Phoneright. They gave me a phone number for Phoneright that states their offices are closed and the hours they are open. Hmmm…according to my watch, they should be open for 2 more hours. I called ILD back and they are going to have a “manager” contact me to help resolve. Apparently these charges are from my teenager signing up for something “free” online. I will put a block on my phone as soon as AT&T opens tomorrow!

106I just noticed ILD on my phone bill Seems I supposedly signed up for unlimited long distance which I already had and voicemail. I have been getting billed $32.90 a monthfor 15 months My Phone company credited me for $ 45.05 for last month and this month and I called ILD and supposedly they cancelled it for me. By my calculations they owe me $493.50. I emailed to them stating this and I also told them I filed a complaint with Consumer Affairs. Now I am waiting for a response back. Check out comsumeraffairs.com and look at all the complaints. UNREAl

107I know how all you feel…I got scammed today as well with ILD and also be on the lookout for ESBI on your Verizon phone bill. Both appeared on my bill the same month totalling almost $40.00. I called both companies and they both said they would remove the charges but it would take 2-3 billing cycles. I am sure they will pay me the interest on that money!! hahaha. Nice to have friends in the same scam boat. Good luck to all!

109I’m still fighting with them over 14.95 that showed up on my bill AFTER I got them to cancel the service. They credited the initial charge, but then charged me for another month. It’s been since February… still no credit. I keep bugging them & they keep saying it will be credited. The worst part is that you can’t put a 3rd party block on, until you’ve gotten all of your credits – or you can’t get the credit.

110Ok, something even stranger…I had a voice message today from an angry woman wanting to know why I billed something to her phone number for a service called ILD. The charge on her bill showed my current name, the address I lived at 40 years ago (different last name)& the clincher…her current phone number is the same one I had when I lived at my old address (I was a very young child at the time). Someone is pulling a F*****g scam big time. This scares me because I don’t know how to find out any info on this.

112Also!!! You can change your phone #, and they still find YOU, and charge you for absolutely no services! I have not resigned a new contract with Verizon just in case. If I get an ILD charge on my cell, I will cancel my phone immediately and go to another carrier who will take better care of me. If I get another charge from ILD on my AT&T bill, I will do an immediate chargeback. ILD??? Haven’t heard from you recently?

113ILD works like a collection agency. If you write a bad check to a business they sell the account to a collection agency. The only difference in ILDs’ case is that you did not write a bad check to any business or ask for any services. These “other” companies create these charges and hide behind ILD and use them to collect from you. They have been popping up on my phone bill and credit card statements for three years. They captured my information after I ordered tickets through Fandango. There was one of those stupid questionaires that offered a $25.00 gift card for answering a few questions I somehow ended up in it. Even though I said no to everything they still started charging me for a voicemail service that I did not even know I had. I have been successful in getting the charges blocked or removed, but what I want is my money back. No one has mentioned if they have been reimbursed. They currently owe me a few hundred dollars and I want it back! I will not give up until I get what I want.

114Well, I just received this month’s AT&T bill, and low and behold, no ILD charges on it… I had to be the biggest bitch of them all to get them to stop putting illegal charges on my bill. But, I’m not gonna stop. I will keep on fighting them and going to every public utililty to get them out of business. I guarantee that they will be back charging me for something, I’m one step ahead of them now…. assholes….

115KSC? To answer your question, I think I’ve now had every ILD charge credited back to me. I had to really be relentless and a complete jerk, but I have never given one red dime to that illegal scamming bunch of assholes. You just have to get on the phone and internet and don’t stop, no matter what they say. AT&T helped alittle, going on the internet and finding the jerks beyond ILD where the charges are coming from helped too. Just keep digging and don’t give up… I’m actually looking forward to my next go around with them. They will lose again!

117Well, Verizon must be getting used to this because the $13.73 charge from IDL was immediately dropped when I called to complain. The Verizon rep told me to call IDL also otherwise they’d continue to try and charge me. I did so and was told that I would be refunded $25 because another charge had gone through also. They told me the name of the company which said I signed up for their services and it doesn’t exist. What a scam! I’ve written a complaint to Verizon, my state representative, the office of the Attorney General and filled out a report on the FBI website.
Companies such as this, that work within a gray area of the law, are popping up all over the place. Clearwater, and other areas of Florida, are absolutely filthy with these disreputable companies. I wonder how many people simply pay the charges and never know they’re being scammed. The rip-off artists who run these disgusting companies are making millions upon millions every day.

119Amazing how many people have this charge on their bill.
I have asked several hundred people about this kind of billing. I’ve had dozens of them report back to me they found it.
- Most don’t know it was there.
Still I wonder – If they know it’s there they do challenge it?
After battling these thieves for several years. I have learned to ask my carrier to show me a legal contract which bears my signature. They couldn’t produce it. THEREFORE – it is defined as cramming.
It’s illegal.
Pac Bell and AT&T have resisted refunding me till I finally threatened to take them to small claims court. THEY BUCKLED IMMEDIATELY.
Pac Bell refunded me over $750.00.
AT&T refunded me over $300.00.
ILD Teleservices has threatened to sue me for telling the truth. I welcome them to do so. I can prove all of this quitel easily.
ILD Teleservices can kiss my southern outlet.
I can only hope more people gain access to this info and ILD Teleservices goes belly up.
Far as I’m concerned ILD Teleservices can rot in hell.

122Update on my experience (you have to go back almost a year to see my initial post). I was lucky enough to get through & get the initial charge removed from my bill & cancel the service (although I had never ordered it). But in the meantime, we were charged with another mohth. It took me until the phone bill I just received to have the charge removed. It took numerous e-mails and letters to get it removed. I finally threatened them with reporting them to the PA Attorney General. I don’t know if that did the trick or not. …… Now it is on to fight with some rewards program being charged to my husband’s credit card…..
