And finally, we come to Google Adsense. My big money maker for the month of May. Google logged a total of about 5,000 impressions more than Kontera, coming in at 52,150 and had another strong month with its click through rate, at 1.46% this month. Both page impressions and CTR were up from April when I had 43,712 impressions and a 1.22% CTR. With Adsense, I averaged $7.44 per day during May, up from my average of $5.04 during April, but like Kontera, this was probably helped by my huge traffic spike on May 16th, where I netted $46.15 with AdSense in a single day – about 6 times my daily average.

If you’re looking for a CPC ad network for your website and you aren’t currently using Google Adsense, I’d highly recommend that you check it out. Month after month as my site has grown, Google has always provided me with revenue results, and unlike AdBrite, my Google Adsense revenue seems to grow parallel to my traffic increases.

Make Money Online – May Summary

All things considered, I think May was a good month for my blog. There are still a couple things that I’d like to change in order to optimize my earnings:

  • Look for an advertising network to replace AdBrite
    • In the interim, I have replaced the AdBrite leaderboard (728×90) with a Google leaderboard to see if the results will be any different
  • Do a better job of tracking individual ad sizes in order to “weed out” those ad placements that don’t perform up to par

And finally, the grand total… the month of May brought me total combined revenue of $321.24 – now all I’ve got to do is figure out what I want to spend it on. Any suggestions?
