So like many people, I have an iPod and iPhone which I use to play music while I’m on the go – neither of these devices have very good support for songs or albums that have multiple artists. I also use Windows Media Center to play music through my home entertainment system; the major difference is that Windows Media Center has great support for songs and albums with multiple artists. Here’s an overview of how Media Center works, and I just found out that MediaMonkey offers the same support – that’s why I’ll be using MediaMonkey from now on to manage all of my music.
When tagging songs for Windows Media Center, I specify the album artist as Various Artists or as the primary artist on the album (depending on the instance). Now, here is the thing that I really like about Media Center – Within the artist field, I can enter multiple artists separated by either a slash (/) or a semi-colon (;) ( rather than putting Feat. Diana Ross somewhere else. So lets say I’m tagging a song that has 3 different artists – 50 Cent/Diana Ross/Paul McCartney (eclectic group of artists… I know). Within Windows Media Center, when I browse my music by artist, this song will show up under each of the 3 artists, where as in iTunes, I now have a new artist listed as 50 Cent/Diana Ross/Paul McCartney. I really like the feature of Media Center how it will parse the album artists on the slash or semi-colon. I think this is a very useful feature and I would love to see this added to iTunes.
MediaMonkey has just added this support in version 3 (using only semi-colons) and they also allow you to use semi-colons to separate genres, classifications and other fields too.
Check out MediaMonkey
Please let me know what you all think and if you have any suggestions on tagging songs with multiple artists.
So back before the iPhone 1.1.3 release, I read a bunch of hype that talked about voice memos and voice dialing – 2 features that would be powerful and I’m assuming somewhat simple to add. Obviously, these updates were not part of the 1.1.3 update which leads me to believe that voice memos and voice dialing features for the iPhone were either all hype, or Apple is taking a little extra time to perfect and develop these features. I’m still hoping that the release of the iPhone 1.1.4 update will open the phone up to 3rd party applications (without having to jailbreak). Here are a few features that have been tossed around in some forums that you may or may not expect to see in the iPhone 1.1.4 firmware release.
- Copy & Paste
- Wi-Fi updates rather than syncing
- Flash Player for Safari browser
- Sync notes
- Purchase third party apps directly from iTunes – this would be a very nice feature because if applications were sold through iTunes, it would allow the apps to be tested and approved by Apple prior to release – more on this later.
- Send photos through text message
Now, what will the exact release date of the iPhone 1.1.4 firmware be? I’m guessing we’ll see something in mid-March. Keep your fingers crossed, and get your feature requests in soon! Leave a reply below with your feature requests too!
One year ago to this day, I wrote a post about ILD Teleservices and their rip off scam. That article talked about my business phone account that suddenly had extra charges tacked on from ILD Teleservices, adding an extra $80 per month to my phone bill. I had logged a complaint with Verizon about ILD Telecom, wrote my post and pretty much forgot about the problem. Since my post, I’ve gotten an occasional reply to it with people telling stories of their own problems with ILD.
It’s a completely unfortunate situation, and it appears that as of today – February 9th, 2008 (Exactly one year from my original ILD Telecom post) that ILD is still operating and scamming people out of money. I just got a reply to the original post tonight detailing a new way that ILD Teleservices is scamming people.
In an effort to help shutdown ILD Teleservices, or at least help make people aware of the problem, I will be updating this post with a list of links to agencies and companies that you can report ILD to, along with other links and articles that I find about ILD. If you have any other websites that discuss ILD Teleservices and the scams that they are running, please reply to this post with links so that I can add them in. Thanks to you all, and best of luck recovering the charges from the most unethical company operating today – ILD Teleservices.

Do you ever get stuck search for last minute gifts before Valentine’s Day? I do! Well, one of my favorite skincare companies – California Body Care has great gifts for sweethearts of all ages. Get your mother some anti-aging skin care products or get your daughter something from the oil free line to help keep her face free of ugly zits and pimples. Every so often, I get a bug in my system where I just have to tweak or modify something in my car. Now, out of nowhere, I have suddenly got the urge to integrate my iPhone with Honda Pilot. The trouble that I’m having right now, is trying to decide which adapter will work best (if at all) with my iPhone. After a bit of research, my two possible options are:
- USA Spec PA11-HON2y
- Honda Music Link
After some research, it seems that the Honda Music Link doesn’t currently support the iPhone or iPod Touch, though I’m still a little bit more inclined to purchase this version. But on the other hand, it seems like the USA Spec PA11-HON2y product natively supports both the iPhone and the iPod Touch. So that’s my dilemma. Do any of you have either the Honda Music Link or the USA Spec PA11-HON2y installed in your Honda?
Both of these products are said to work with all new model Honda vehicles:
- Honda Accord
- Honda Civic
- Honda CR-V
- Honda Element
- Honda Fit
- Honda Odyssey
- Honda Pilot
- Honda Ridgeline
- Honda S2000

This problems stems from line 176 as stated above – some people have said that updating their wordpress theme worked, however, a simple change to line 176 seems to work perfectly.
Change line 176 from:
