iPhone Problems – No Sound When Typing, No Key Click Sounds for Keyboard

My iPhone is running firmware version 2.0.1 and some of the time, the keyboard does not make the clicking sounds. It is very random as to when this happens, sometimes I can just switch the phone to silent mode, then back to normal and that will solve the problem, but sometimes I need to power the phone off, and then back on.
I have yet to install firmware version 2.0.2, has anyone else encountered this problem? If you have, does the new firmware version fix it?

ya i had a simular issue but that was when i jail broke it and installed some applications my clicking sounds didnt work a power off and on and it started working again .
little switch above the volume control (on the left side) needs to be toggled

My toggle switch is on or sound and I still have a quiet keyboard keeps coming and going every few presses
Same issue have 3 gs with 3.1 clicks come and go how do I fix this . Phone is new

Flip the little switch above your volume controls on the upper left side

Put the volume down to ‘ zero” and bring up again. It works for me. No k/b clicks sound and not able to hear on the phone. Hope this helps .

HELP! Just got the Iphone4 today! Worked fine until I syncd with laptop and now there is no sound at all!!
Toggling side button does not help. Turning on and off isn’t helping, about to do a factory reset!!
