I have been trying all night to call and text my wife, but nothing goes through. Text messages get hung up, calls just say “calling…” and never doing anything. Is anyone else having problems with AT&T and/or T-Mobile?

Is the AT&T network down?

My wife and I recently got a Flip Video player and it works great, we absolutely love it. The one problem that I’ve run into however is that we typically download all of the videos to our PC and they are shared on our network. My Mac didn’t have the Flip video software installed on it, so when I try to open the Flip Video AVI files, I am unable to open them. I get a QuickTime message that reads:

Additional software is required for QuickTime to playback this media. It may be available from the QuickTime Components page.

Make sure your internet network connection is active, then click the Continue button to check for the software.

Many of us are anxiously awaiting the release of the iPhone 3.0 Software, but if you just can’t wait to get your hands on the iPhone 3.0 OS, you can download it today to begin testing and playing with it if you’d like. All you have to do is register to join the iPhone developer program. So what’s the catch? No catch really, other than the fee to join the program – $99 for the Standard Program.

Joining the Standard Program allows you to develop applications that can be sold in the AppStore. You could probably make that $99 back quickly and easily if you built an application that people liked.

So if you don’t think you can wait until summer for Copy & Paste functionality, Push functionality, the new Spotlight Search functionality, join the Apple iPhone Developer Program today so that you can download and start testing the iPhone OS 3.0 Software.

Custom Invitations

April 11th, 2009 | Posted by i.nconspicuo.us in Reviews - (1 Comments)
I recently had a birthday party and my wife and I shopped all over to find invitations to send out. The problem was that all of the generic invitations that we found either didn’t fit our style, or weren’t specific enough for the type of party that we were having… it’s very rare to have a winter hawaiian theme, right? Anyways, after doing some searching, we came across the Vista Print website. In case you haven’t heard of Vista Print before, they are a company that offers all sorts of different print services, and in this case, we used Vista Print to order custom birthday invitations.

When we found the site, we were originally looking to get custom birthday invitations, and in the process of looking, we found that Vista Print offers many other types of cards as well, such as:

  • Birthday Cards
  • Baby Birth Announcement Cards
  • Graduations Announcement Cards
  • Wedding / Engagement Announcement Cards / Invitations
  • Moving Cards
  • General Party Cards
  • Religious Cards
  • Business Cards

Some of the features I really liked about the Vista Print website and the cards that they offer are that they have many cards that are completely designed, all you have to do is fill out your information and it is applied to the card in a matching / complementary font and color. They also offer cards that have a majority of the design done, but these cards have an area where you can upload a picture of your own to customize and personalize the card. And the final option (the option that we used because I’m a graphic designer) was the option that allows you to upload an entire image or picture to be the entire card.

So the next time you’re looking for custom cards, make sure you visit Vista Print!

There is no question about it, there are two things out there that high on the list of demands for features to be added to things we use everyday.

  1. Copy & Paste Support for the iPhone
This is apparently coming with the release of the iPhone 3.0 software. I’ll believe it when I see it! This has been a feature that has been being requested since the first iPhone was bought, and it sounds like it actually might become a reality in the near future.
  2. HTML Signatures in Gmail
Lets face it… we all use Gmail, and we all use many of the great features that are offered in Gmail Labs, but the thing that is absolutely requested more than any other feature has got to be the request for HTML signatures in Gmail. As soon as HTML signatures are offered, I wouldn’t be surprised if sales and usage of Microsoft Outlook dropped by half. HTML signatures are the one thing that email clients offer that google has unfortunately not started to offer inside of Gmail yet.

It’s funny some of the most trivial things like Copy & Paste and HTML Signatures are also 2 of the things that 2 of the biggest tech companies have failed to offer for a long time. What do you think? Does anyone have a guess on an ETA for HTML Signatures?

Let’s start a petition…

Recently (actually, I don’t know how recently it was, considering I haven’t used my Xbox 360 as a media center extender in quite some time) the Xbox 360 began supporting file types other than Windows Media files (.WMV) on the Xbox 360. I tried connecting my Xbox 360 to my media center and wanted to play an .MPG file that I had on my computer from my video camera, and I got the following message:

Optional Media Update Required

A media update is required to play this content

From there, all I had to do was connect to Xbox Live and let the update download on its own. Now I can quickly and easily view any video that is sitting on my computers hard driver, whether it is an .AVI, .MPG, etc. I haven’t yet tried to stream any .MKV or DIVX files, but I’d love to hear if any of those file types have worked for you.

For those of you who are like me and hate writing your return address on all of your outgoing mail and envelopes, you should check out the customized address labels from VistaPrint.com. VistaPrint offers all types of printing services, but their address labels provide you a quick and easy way to save a lot of time. And the great thing is that you’ll be saving a lot more than time because the address labels are very affordable – they start at just $7.99!

I love having address labels to use – in fact, I use my new customized address labels all the time! Not only do I put them on personal mail items (birthday cards, holiday cards, etc.), but now, I use them when I’m sending bills in the mail, or any other type of item. Good thing too, because the other day, I sent a check in the mail for a credit card bill and I forgot to put a stamp on it. Thanks to my clean, clear and legible address label, my envelope made its way back to me and I was able to apply the proper postage on it and resend it.

Another great thing about Vista Print is that they have many options when you are buying address labels. You’ll have the choice between any of the following:

  • You can browse their unique designs for an address label that you like
  • You can create your own and upload your own address label design
  • You can use their design builder and create your own design using the easy to use tools that are offered on their website

Whichever option is best for you, you’ll be more than happy with the end result! And again, the best part is the price! Vista Print offers competitive prices and great quality, so make sure you check them out today!
