I’ve used eBay and PayPal and UPS to sell and ship products for a long time and until recently, it worked perfectly for me with no problems at all. However, I recently changed my work address, which also happened to be the address that I had my UPS account setup as. Upon changing the information inside my PayPal account and inside my UPS account, the two will no longer link up. I constantly get the following error message:

“The contact information you submitted does not match the information on file for your UPS account. Either update your UPS account information by visiting www.ups.com or update the information below.”

The confusing thing is that I’ve verified and re-verified that all information matches. The only solution that I’ve found is to create a new UPS account, but in doing this, it takes 5-7 business days to be approved for the lower PayPal UPS shipping rates.

Has anyone else encountered this problem? Let us know what you’ve done to get around if… or if it is even possible to get around it.

Now that Words With Friends for the iPhone (WWF) has grown to have a cult following, many people play just to see how big they can score on a single word. Don’t get me wrong… I personally still play to win, but I’ve been known to drop a 100+ point bomb on occasion. Some of my highest scoring words (that I recall) were:

  • JEEP – 118 points
  • QUINOA – 144 points
  • JEHU – 114 points
  • JOSS – 111 points
  • ZONE – 102 points
  • GEEZ – 105 points

I haven’t done the math to figure out what the highest possible word score would be while playing Words With Friends, so I’m hoping that someone will put their best guess in the comments below. What are your highest single word scores in Words With Friends?

The release of the iPhone 4 and FaceTime will revolutionize the way that we communicate. Sure there are (and have been) other services out there that allow us to video chat, however with the release of FaceTime for iPhone 4, I think video chat will be revolutionized for one reason and one reason alone. It is no longer necessary to create an account with a 3rd party service like Skype. You just need your phone number (and obviously the $199 iPhone 4).

So no that you have the iPhone 4 and FaceTime working, how do you tell which of your contacts also have FaceTime? That was the first question I asked myself when I started playing around with my new iPhone 4, “How can I tell which friends have FaceTime?” The simple answer is, you can’t. Just try calling each of your contacts with FaceTime to find out if they have it.

To make a FaceTime call, just open up a contact, scroll to the bottom and click the new FaceTime button. Best of luck!

So I got my phone 1 day early. I plugged it into iTunes, got it all synced up and setup. Then it gave me a short little message saying something along the lines of “Activation will take a little bit of time.” Thinking nothing of it, I set my phone aside and went back to work. An hour later, my iPhone 4 still wasn’t activated on the cellular network, and my iPhone 3GS was still working. A quick google search revealed that many users were having activation problems.

How to Activate Your iPhone 4

If you’re having problems with activating your iPhone 4, here’s the way to get the new one to activate. Turn it off, then back on. That should do the trick. If that doesn’t work, try the following: Go to http://att.com/Activations

As everyone knows, the official release date of the highly anticipated iPhone 4 is Thursday, June 24th. However there are many reports that users who pre-ordered the iPhone are seeing early shipping notifications with a delivery date 1 day early, and in some cases, 2 days early. I just got a shipment notification detailing my delivery date of June 23rd by 3pm. Has anyone else got an early shipment notification? Or a cancellation? I heard that some pre-orders have been canceled.

With the release of the new iPhone 4, you’d figure that Apple and AT&T would get their shit together, but for some reason, both of their sites seem to be down and unable to accept orders. On AT&T, I get the following error:

Due to a system upgrade the site is temporarily unavailable, please try again later. For immediate assistance please contact customer service at 1-800-331-0500.

On Apple, I repeatedly get session timeout errors. Actually, here’s another error I just got from Apple:

Your request couldn’t be processed.
We’re sorry, but there was an error processing your request. Please try again later.

Has anyone successfully been able to order the iPhone 4 yet?

So I’ve been getting a lot of questions about how to install the iOS 4.0, and whether it will work. Here are a few questions/answers that should help you out.

Can I install iOS 4.0 on Windows?
Not currently. As of right now, you need iTunes 9.2 beta which is only availble for Mac. It may not be released for the PC until June 21, 2010.

Do I need to be a registered developer?
Many people have mentioned and asked about needing a valid UDID in the Apple developer network. This isn’t required because the current iOS 4.0 IPSW file that is floating around is the Golden Master (GM) which means that is the release that will be publicly available to the masses. Thus, no UDID is required.

How do I install iOS 4.0?
You’ll use iTunes. Backup your phone as you always do. Download and install the iTunes 9.2 beta. Just google it, I am not providing links here. Once it’s installed, click Alt + Restore in iTunes and select the IPSW file that you downloaded – iPhone2,1_4.0_GM_8A293_Restore.ipsw – let the restore happen. That’s it, you now have iOS 4.0.

Have fun!

Just as soon as it was announced and made available to developers, the new iPhone OS 4.0, now known as iOS 4.0 has been leaked and is available for download from file sharing sites such as Dropbox and Storage.it. A simple Google search will yield plenty of links like:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3762198/iPhone2%2C1_4.0_GM_8A293_Restore.ipsw
or
http://www.storage.to/get/CvLkuOIS/iPhone2,1_4.0_GM_8A293_Restore.ipsw

So if you’re one of the people who just can’t wait to get their hands on the new version of the OS, try downloading the newest version of the iOS 4.0 Golden Master from one of the links above. Or Google it yourself to find other links! If you do install from one of the above links, let me know how it goes in the comments… Not sure I want to attempt it yet. ;-)

Apple has officially announced the iPhone 4 and released pictures and video of the phone and its amazing new features and capabilities. I think the most attractive features of the new iPhone are the new screen which offers a resolution that is 4 times as high as the current iPhone as well as the front and back facing camera (with flash) and the ability to record and edit HD video. Apple has definitely set the bar high with the announcement and release of this new hardware.

The release of the iPhone OS 4.0 firmware will be another feature that allows the iPhone to gain more market share, because the OS 4.0 will allow developers to do more. For some reason, Apple has stopped calling it the iPhone OS 4.0 and has now gone to a different naming scheme, calling it iOS 4.0. Either way, it is feature packed and will add a huge list of new features and capabilities to the new phone. I can’t wait to get mine!

In today’s economy, most people are trying to save money any way that they can, and I’m not different. I recently found out that I needed to replace the keyless entry system on my car because the original key fob that came with my car just stopped working. The dealership wanted over $100 for the key / keyless entry clicker. I was fortunately able to find the same key with keyless entry clicker built into it for just $35.99 after doing a little searching online!

If you ever need a car keys replacement, make sure you check out AutoTransponder.com – they specialize in replacement keys, replacement key fobs and replacement keyless entry systems for what seems to be every year, make and model car that I could think of. And looking through their list of makes and models that they have keys and key fobs for, I’d think that if there is a car that they don’t have on their list, they’d probably be able to get one for you… just email them and ask!

So whether you’ve lost your key or your key fob, or maybe you just want to have a backup (or backups) around the house, you should definitely check out AutoTransponder.com next time you need keys!
